  • Rachel Matthews - Dreams, for viola and piano : Lusingano

    Rachel Matthews‘s album of new chamber music Dreams, to be released in early 2012 by Centaur Records, was produced with assistance from the Jack Straw Artist Support Program.

  • Tom Baker - The Call for Reapers

    Tom Baker recorded his opera Hunger: The Journey of Tamsen Donner as his recent Jack Straw Artist Residency project. Present Sounds will release it on CD on December 1st.

  • Stephen Fandrich - Ballade

    This performance was recorded at Jack Straw’s Composer Spotlight series on September 14th, 2011. Stephen Fandrich, John Seman, and Mark Ostrowski presented new work that will be recorded at Jack Straw as part of the Monktail Creative Music Concern‘s 2011 Jack Straw Artist Residency.

  • Voices and Images From Bulgaria - Trgnala e Neda

    Martin Koenig collected recordings and photographs of traditional Bulgarian culture in the 1960s. The recordings were transferred and mastered by Jack Straw Productions, and the photos and recordings are on exhibit in our New Media Gallery through October 28th.

  • Randal Bays - Whately Snow

    Renowned Irish fiddle player Randal Bays received a 2007 Jack Straw Artist residency to produce an album of guitar music. Oyster Light is available for sale on his web site.

  • Jack Straw New Media Gallery Interview : Nari Baker

    An interview with Nari Baker, whose installation Talking to Ghosts: Waiting in the River between Worlds is in the Jack Straw New Media Gallery through Friday, September 16th.

  • Urtaa Gantulga - Motherland

    This piece, arranged by 2011 Jack Straw Resident Artist Urtaa Gantulga, is a combination of two melodies: Argameg Hurdan Huleg by M. Altangerel, and the theme from the Genghis Khan movie Munkh Tergeriin Huchin Dor by N. Jantsannorov. This performance was recorded at Gantulga’s Composer Spotlight presentation at Jack Straw in October 2010.

  • Tom Baker - The Land Flattens

    This piece is an excerpt from Tom Baker‘s Opera Hunger: The Journey of Tamsen Donner, recorded through the Jack Straw Artist Support Program and to be released this summer on Present Sounds. Join us at Jack Straw Productions on Wednesday, August 10th when Baker will present Composer Spotlight.

  • Seattle Harmonic Voices - Gliss

    Gliss, composed by Stephen Fandrich, is from the Seattle Harmonic Voices album named  Harmonic Voice, released by Monktail Creative Music Concern. Disk 1 of the album Live was recorded at Jack Straw for Sonarchy Radio in 2004.

  • Johnny Moses - Welcome Song

    Greg Fields and Johnny Moses recently released 2 CDs of a planned 5-disc set of Samish, Snohomish, Shaker, and Doctoring Songs produced during their 2010 Jack Straw artist residency.
