Tom Baker Quartet - Bit by Bit
This performance was recorded at a Jack Straw artist showcase at Egan’s Ballard Jamhouse in June 2007. The Tom Baker Quartet (Baker, Jesse Canterbury, Greg Campbell, and Brian Cobb) will kick off 25 hours of music, reading, and other performance at Jack Straw in celebration of our 50th anniversary on June 25, 2012 at 7pm.

Ruze Dalmatinke - Dobre Vecer Stara Majka
Ruze Dalmatinke and Vela Luka produced the album Vela Luka: Croation Dance Ensemble through Jack Straw’s 1996 Artist Support Program. Ruze Dalmatinke will perform at the Jack Straw/KRAB showcase this weekend at NW Folklife Festival on Sunday, May 27th, 2012.

Sankofa - Tuwe Tuwe
Sankofa recently completed their debut album of a capella music, produced at Jack Straw through our Artist Support Program.

Joy Mills - Tourist Town

Alchymeia - Drinking Songs
2011 Jack Straw resident artists Alchymeia will release their debut album recorded through the Jack Straw Artist Support Program, on Friday, April 20th at Empty Sea Studios.

Byron Au Yong - Daughter
In 2004 composer Byron Au Yong presented Yiju: Songs of Dislocation in the Jack Straw New Media Gallery, in collaboration with Chishan Lin, John D. Pai, and Lorraine Pai. This album of music from Yiju has just been released by Present Sounds Recordings.

Steve Peters and Steve Roden - Water Veins
Steve Peters and Steve Roden‘s album Not a Leaf Remains As It Was was produced through the Jack Straw Artist Support Program and released this month by 12k Records. More information at 12k.com.

Alchymeia - Medley
This piece, a medley of Dy Lule Mas Malit (traditional Albanian), J’ai Vu Le Loup (French Renaissance), and Oy Mamochko (traditional Ukrainian), was performed by Jack Straw resident artists Nadia Tarnawsky and the group Alchymeia during their Composer Spotlight presentation in October 2011. The album they recorded in their residency will be released this year.

Bob Antone - Spotted Owl Gallery
Robert Antone is currently recording a full length album of his original songs featuring acoustic guitar, musical saw, and other traditional instruments as part of his 2011 Jack Straw Artist Residency.

Beth Fleenor - Mother May I, Wave 1
This ensemble performance was recorded at the opening of Beth Fleenor‘s installation Mother May I in the Jack Straw New Media Gallery on November 4, 2011. The group is using a wave form cross-stitched by Fleenor as a graphic score.
