::intrigue::8 is a multimedia exhibition exploring the symbiotic relationship between poetry and music. Given allowance to play with the words and structure of poems from local and nationally recognized writers, the resulting compositions, looped video shorts and window dressings evoke a spirit-forward transformation of poetry to song. Choral-heavy melodies set against loop-based harmonies draw lyrics from the writings of Danez Smith, Natalie Diaz, Anastacia Renee, Elaina M. Ellis, Airea Matthews, JeanAnn Verlee, and Rose McAleese, as well as a tribute to the late Dr. Maya Angelou.
