Jack Straw Piano Series starts June 1st
Jack Straw Cultural Center announces a new series of intimate piano performances in our studio, highlighting the diversity and talent of Jack Straw Artists and the beauty and range of our Steinway B grand piano. Every other month, a pianist who has been part of our artist residency programs will perform, along with a pianist they invite.
Saturday, June 1, 7pm: Amy Rubin and Randy Halberstadt
Sunday, August 4, 2pm: Rachel Matthews and friends perform Schumann
Friday, October 11, 7pm: Jovino Santos Neto and Collin Meredith

Suggested donation: $10-$20
Our inaugural event, on Saturday, June 1st, features Jack Straw Artist Amy Rubin and Randy Halberstadt. Amy’s program will include music of Brazil by Ernesto Nazareth and her own arrangements of Astor Piazzolla’s Nuevo Tango, as well as original compositions. Randy will perform a mix of original compositions from his recent recording, Open Heart (Origin 2018), as well as some reinvented standards from the jazz repertoire.
