Gregg Miller
Gregg Daniel Miller received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Washington in 2005. His research focus is on the philosophy of language, power, and aesthetics within the traditions of critical theory and liberalism (see: Mimesis and Reason, SUNY Press, 2011). He is also an improvising saxophone player. For his Jack Straw project, Miller combines his interests in political theory with his love of free, experimental, improvisatory music.
Artist Support Program 2019: The Improvised Event: Racer Sessions recorded: Record on-location and edit four Racer Sessions (a weekly, public, all-ages improvisatory music gathering at Café Racer in Seattle) and interview participants as primary research for a book on power, freedom, and improvisation.
