Reading Preview: Doug Nufer

May 10, 2007

Here’s a sliver of what you can expect at the first of three readings at Jack Straw Productions on May 17th. “I Still Love the Man I Killed,” a poem from Doug Nufer’s forthcoming collection of work, opens the podcast followed by an excerpt from his interview with Writers Program curator Matt Briggs. Doug Nufer is the author of the novels Negativeland, Never Again, and On the Roast, all of which came out in 2004, and of The Mudflat Man/The River Boys (2006). His writing has appeared in Fence, Chain, Bird Dog, and Monkey Puzzle. He was in the spoken word trio Staggered Thirds, and currently performs with choreographer Erin Mitchell and her dance troupe.

Doug Nufer will be reading in the Jack Straw Reading Series on Thursday, May 17th, at 7pm, with writers Kathryn Trueblood, Laurie Blauner, and Willie Smith. Please note that the presentation will have mature content.

Jack Straw Productions is located at 4261 Roosevelt Way NE, in Seattle. All of the writers heard in this series are published in the Jack Straw Writers Anthology, and featured online at www.jackstraw.org.
