International Examiner: Satpreet Kahlon interrogates constructs of displacement and belonging in new exhibit

Using segmented pieces of image transferred onto found wood and cardboard as a starting point, the artist has created a site-specific installation about nostalgia, access, and geographical displacement. An image of a boy and his grandmother in rural Punjab, with audio of the village they live in playing from various sources, work together to create an immersive encounter that reframes ideas of memory, optics, and accessibility.
