John Burgess grew up in upstate New York, worked on a survey crew in Montana, taught English in Japan, and now lives in Seattle. His poems have appeared in the 1999 King County Poetry and Art on Buses project, PoetsWest Literary Journal, Portland's Gumball Poetry project, 4th Street, Snow Monkey, Cranky, Pontoon and Anemone Sidecar. His influences include punk music, haiku and Montana bars. His first book is Punk Poems (Ravenna Press).
